What's Up at the Scottsdale Center For the Performing Arts This Season?


I've had some wonderful experiences and memories of participating in events and theater in the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. From Patsy Cline awards for menopause the music, each visit has left me feeling the magic.

Here is what will come up in the middle of this fall in the 2011th

Talk Cinema comes to Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. This is an opportunity to see independent and foreign films prior to their cinemas. This event will host a variety of industry experts and you'll be able to participate with their own review of each film!

There will be nine screenings in all rates with benefits if you apply for all projections. Tuesday evening screenings start in October, so join the conversation theaters this fall.

41 Annual Scottsdale Arts Festival is coming 11th-13th March Two hundred well-known artists from around the country will be honored to attend this event, displaying their creations ranging from painting, photography, glass, jewelry, sculpture, wood, ceramics, drawing and pastels, fiber and mixed media exhibits.

Arts Festival will sponsor an online auction with proceeds benefiting the Center. There will be live music from local musicians, as well as the Wine Country, the market and beer garden with local fare.

Do not forget the 2010 Imagine Nation. This year's theme will be time with family and Family Fun paying tribute to the diversity of American families! interactive set the whole family will enjoy the storytelling and comedy generously scattered among a wide range of activities, reminding us that it does not take a boat load of money to have a good time!

2010/2011 Performance Calendar is packed with exciting entertainment, including lunch with the chefs now in its fifth year. This is an opportunity to rub elbows with some of our top chefs, sample their creations and enjoy live entertainment.

Steve Martin is coming to town 10th October with bluegrass band plays mostly music ditties with great confidence, sprinkled with a kind of humor. I have always enjoyed Steve Martin from Saturday night live "King Tut" on his many great movies including my personal favorite "Dirty Rotten scoundrels ".

then we get a visit from the amazing John Lithgow. I loved him in the third Rock and Dexter recently as a sinister serial killer who has kept even Dexter in awe of his level of expertise with your profession! I can not forget to recognize a life with GARP Shrek and John Lithgow as part of the repertoire! On 21 October John will be on stage performing his one man show "Tales of the heart" to switch to our emotions from one minute to the next exciting with your style.

musical guests the legendary Doc Severinsen, which has trumpeted its way through the extraordinary career touring with greats such as Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman bands. He has also worked with the Phoenix Symphony, and we all know him best as Johnny Carson's favorite musical sidekick!

Bernadette Peters will grace the stage in November with her ​​veil flowing ringlets perform songs from her "The Face of Broadway" show. a great cross between Barbara Streisand and Bette Midler, Miss Peters will light up the stage with her designer gowns and sultry style!

Political farce and madness anyone? Capitol Steps will be performing their sharp satire of the language, leaving no one is safe, regardless of affiliation, not a stone unturned when it comes to entertaining the masses at the expense of our political leaders.

John Waters will be entertained with its sharp biting witticisms over the Christmas wish us all a bit tacky Christmas with a not so subtle reminder of adult content to all that holiday down so we eagerly anticipate and why we just might as well enjoy in it!

Sisters Christmas Catechism will grace the stage in December with another adventure of audience participation led by our favorite Nun. This ever-changing view to all believers, no matter what religion! You must be ready to don the veil as a crown or some lucky audience members will be trudged on stage to become a living nativity scenes during the performance! Great fun for all!

can enjoy the Cuban salsa dancing on stage, Venice Baroque Orchestra, and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, the romantic music of Robert Schumann, Christmas Day in Ireland, Flamenco dancing, and so much more through the new year!
